Intertextuality is based on a text’s connection with other texts. These texts can be of two different types, but be related to the same culture; as is the case of Shahnameh with the dynastic historical texts. That is, so much connection has been created between Shahnameh’s prelude and the dynastic historical texts during long periods of time. Thus, the research question in this paper is that how is the intertextual relationship between Shahnameh and the dynastic historical texts from the sixth century to the mid eighth century? So, we will apply Gérard Genette's transtextulaity theory which is a complete theory to find all the aspects of intertextuality connection. The main purpose of this paper is to achieve a variety of co - presences and intertextual connections of the dynastic historical texts in the intended time interval and Shahnameh. The research method is contrastive and based on the description and analysis of data. The findings of the study show that the dynastic historians, very knowingly, have chosen Shahnameh in order to answer their own expectations and those of their audiences, based on their historical attitudes and their way of writing history and in this regard they have utilized these four types of intertextuality, that is quotation, allusion, plagiarism and reference, respectively from the most used one to the least used one.
