The story of “Bahram and his bondmaid in hunting-ground” is narrated by both Ferdowsi and Nezami. This essay considers the different nominalization process of one character in two narrations in detail. The study of characterization on basis of characters nominalization is a significant point which is not considered nor in theoretical researches not in practical ones. Bahram’s bondmaid is named “Azadeh” in Shahnameh and named “Fetneh’ in Haft-Peykar. The main question in this article is that how do analogous names reinforce the characterization. For analyzing this case, considering the kinds of characterization and focalization are necessary. As a results show, naming is in compatible with the narrations’ genres completely. In the other word, the difference between Ferdowsi and Nezami’s viewpoints and motivations, leading to different genres creation, bring about different narration and consequently different naming in one story. Analogous names can represent character’s features through some ways such as morphological kind and semantic connection which explained in this story.
